This engine was specially made by ADE for the company Eskader in Stockholm. They wanted an engine for marine purposes hence the shaft pointing aft so you could connect a propeller shaft. This model was done in a limited series of about 100 engines, and shares the same base plate and parts as the ADE 49/11 locomobile.
